The small, canister-shaped droid finally had the last of the wiring in place, and fused it with a final spark from it integrated tool. The lights came on in the apartment suddenly, and the robot beeped its approval and surveyed the room once more to make sure it was all in place.

It had no idea why those annoying Ghosts hadn't actually hooked up the lights or appliances. Maybe they were robots that didn't understand anything past the hull and engines that they had patched, or maybe they were just too easily distracted by the activity that had been starting on the station recently. Either way, the stupid things were out of here, and R2-D2 was pleased.

Bel, ecstatic that it finally found the residential section, wandered in then stopped to stare in pleasant wonder at the busy little robot.

R2-D2, noticing the individual entering, beeped a greeting to it.

"And what are you?" Bel was looking around more than it was paying attention to the robot, but it didn't pay to ignore the little thing completely.

R2 beeped again, attempting to explain that it was, of course, an astromech droid. When the individual stared blankly, it responded by showing multiple tools to demonstrate it was useful.

It studied R2 a moment. "Oh, I see. You fix things." Bel looked around the room. "You still have a lot of work ahead of you, I think. Is this station even safe for habitation?"

R2 gave a detailed description of what was fixed and what seemed to be needed, both part and tool-wise. Following that, it listed off a few of the workarounds possible for those items that had unique tools. Unfortunately, to those who did not understand astromechs' language would just interpret this as a series of happy beeps, or maybe a strangely hummed tune.

It frowned at the little robot and shook its head. "You need an interpreter, little robot. I can see you know what you're doing though."

Bel wondered who spoke the little robot's 'language'. "Can Marvin understand you?"

R2 made an unhappy noise and rotated its dome back and forth, a sort of shaking its own head.

"Does the station understand you?"

The droid responded with a somewhat guarded affirmative beep.

"We could ask it to translate, couldn't we?"

The droid beeped and put out a strange implement, perhaps some sort of cooking skewer, or more likely, a specialized jack.

"Let's find you something to plug that into," Bel said cheerfully.

R2 did an impersonation of a nod and gave a cheerful beep, followed by a series which was obviously a question.

"How should I know exactly where?" Bel ventured, hoping it had guessed the right question. "Does this thing have a bridge?"

R2 made a sound indicating either it wasn't sure or that it had some bad diodes.

In either case, Bel nods. "Then we should look."
